We are searching for a Senior Accountant to join our team in the non-profit sector, located in Watsonville, California. This role involves various accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and bank account reconciliation, and preparation of monthly financial statements. You will also be involved in budgeting processes, compiling grant expenditure reports, and preparing statistical and financial reports for various departments.Responsibilities:• Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed.• Conduct regular reconciliation of general ledger, bank, and broker accounts.• Prepare draft monthly financial statements, providing a clear and accurate representation of financial position.• Maintain fixed assets records and assist with the annual budgeting process.• Compile grant expenditure reporting, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.• Prepare statistical and financial reports for departments, finance committee, and Board of Directors.• Apply the General Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) in all accounting tasks, including analytical work and thorough review of financial reports.• Assist in the preparation of miscellaneous confidential correspondence.• Utilize various software and platforms including Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to perform accounting tasks and maintain records.• Perform month-end close procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries.This role offers a contract employment opportunity.
